Practice Questions
  1. Is a vegetarian diet healthier than a meat-based diet?
    • Medical journals would be the most useful source for questions about a diet's positive and negative effects.
  2. Target often forces musicians to alter lyrics in order to have their Cd's sold in target stores. Is this censorship?
    • I would use an encyclopedia of social studies to find what out what exactly the definition of censorship is as it could have many perspectives.
  3. How much more can a college graduate expect to earn over someone with a high school diploma?
    • Statistical reference books or web sites would be the best place to find that kind of comparative data or statistics.
  4. Should educators use commercial services to combat plagiarism?
    • I would check newspapers for popular opinion and then consult and academic encyclopedia for background info.
  5. Is the current lack of sunspot activity affecting global warming?
    • Scientific journals would be the most helpful with regard to new findings in the scientific community and then perhaps websites for environmental activists for their perspective.

  1. Hi, Melissa:

You did a good job matching up the questions with appropriate sources. If you can determine what the most useful information would be that can direct your search and save you time. Thank you for your efforts.

    Cheers,
    Andrea
